Back To School Fun

On September 10, students enjoyed a back-to-school party in the Spectrum of Joy courtyard at Newark Public Library, an interactive art installation by CAZORLA + SALEME commissioned by the Newark Artist Collaboration. In this happy, vibrant space, students got to pick out school supplies, pose for “winged” photos, dance to music by a live DJ, enjoy treats from Newark Working Kitchens restaurants, and make colorful artwork of their own. The kids and their families also had the chance to meet the artists CAZORLA + SALEME, as well as Central Ward Councilwoman LaMonica R. McIver.
